Weekend and Joel Update

Saturday we took the girls to their sibling preparation class at the hospital. It went really well. There were 8 other kids in the class with them and they all got to tell if they were having a brother or a sister and what the new baby's name would be. They talked about all kind of important stuff and Josie even offered up an answer or two. I was so impressed with her. After the "classroom" part we went upstairs to tour the Labor & Delivery room, recovery room and most importantly we got to see a baby. Both girls did so well and are so proud of their certificiates:

Sunday we had church and then Josie and I went to a baby shower while Jolie and Joe went home to chill. Here is a picture of Josie in Sunday School:

We got our first call about the house Friday evening. Joe and I were very encouraged by this because we had not gotten any interest the first two weeks. Nothing came of it but we got another call yesterday and they come tomorrow night. In the meantime we have other things we are trying to figure out while our lives are in limbo, like preschool for Josie, start her here or in Greenville. Pediatrian for Joel, use ours here or find one in Greenville so we don't have to transfer everything. And several other things.

I had a doctor's appointment this morning that went very well. I have gained a pound since my last appointment, so my doctor was very happy with that. My blood pressure was good. I had the diabetes test and RH shot. Joel was very active and had a great heart beat reading after drinking the glucose drink for the diabetes test. I am supposed to start going every two weeks but he he will be out in two weeks so my next appointment is August 9th.

Catching Up for July

I am sure a lot of you are wondering, "What is going on with those Burdicks these days." Yeah, I know the tales of our drama consume your lives, just joking.

We have had a very busy past two weeks. Friday, July 2, 2010, my dad, Josie, Jolie & I met Joe in Greenville to look at a house. It was not quite what we were expecting so we talked the realtor into showing us another one that afternoon. It was a bit more than we would like to pay, but a decent house. After that we went back to the golf course where we spent an hour or so driving around. We ate dinner at the Bates House of Turkey and came home. Saturday morning we got up bright and early and headed to Marvins to pick up supplies to make some improvements around our house and some "for sale" signs. After Marvins Joe went and picked up some dirt too fill in some places in our yard while the girls and I did some grocery shopping. That afternoon we headed to MeeMaw and Paw-Paw's to spend the afternoon and to visit with Gigi who was down for the weekend. Sunday morning (the 4th) we got up and headed to church. Other Mama took Josie to the lake while Jolie, Joe and I stayed for church. After church the three of us went back to MeeMaw and Paw-Paws for lunch with them and Gigi. Around 3:30 we headed to Nanny's for a cookout with the Anderson side of the family. Around 8:00 we headed to downtown Wetumpka to watch the fireworks. Jolie was amazed while Josie covered her ears to begin with. After fireworks the girls went home with Other Mama to spend the night. Monday morning Joe and I got up and headed back down to Greenville to drive around on our own to see if we could look for "for sale by owner signs," and to look at the outside of some of the houses being sold by realtors. We spent five hours down there driving around. We got some good leads and came home.

Tuesday I came back to work and noticed that a Jalapenos (the Mexican place that we went to see the princesses) had Dora on Monday night. I got so excited thinking I could take the girls to see Dora. Joe told me he had to work late so I called MeeMaw and Paw-Paw to see if they wanted to go with us. They said sure, so after work I picked up the girls, picked up MeeMaw and Paw-Paw and we headed to Vaughn Road (this is like a 35-40 minute drive from our house.) So we get down there around the time that Dora is supposed to show up. A little after six I make the comment about Dora being late. MeeMaw asks me if I had called to double check and I said, "No, every Monday night is characterr night." To which she looks at me and says, "Well today is Tuesday." Ugghhhhhh. I felt horrible. I had gotten the girls so excited and plus we had driven a really long way now just to eat Mexican. Josie was very upset when I told her I didn't think Dora was coming. Paw-Paw then went and talked to the manager who came to our table to tell Josie that Dora had called in sick and wouldn't be able to make it, but that she was coming back soon. Props to Paw-Paw for quick thinking. So we enjoyed our dinner and went back to their house for watermelon.

That Friday the girls and I headed back down to Greenville after I got off work to look at some more houses that Joe had set up for us to see. I feel in love with one of them. We would have an eat-in kitchen, two living rooms, a playroom, the girls have a room, Joel have a room, our room, a huge laundry room, and two bathrooms. It also has a deck. There are a few down sides like it being on a main road (we thought we could put up a small picket fence as a barrier between the house the front yard), it is in a mixed neighborhood, and it does not have central heat and air. The realtor said the the people selling have several houses and have really been working with people and pretty much giving them whatever they want and felt that we could get them to put in central heat and air and get it for less than what they are asking which is $65,000.00. It is an older home which I love. I have absolutely fallen in love with the house and to be honest it consumes my thoughts. I think about how I would do this or that, and everything that would go into making it our home. However, we can not do anything until we sell ours. So far we have not had a single call on our house. It is very discouraging, but I know God has a plan.

Saturday Joe worked and the girls and I hung out and cleaned up the house and went through toys cleaning out some. That evening we went to a Japenese restaraunt with Chris, Crystal, Elias & Annaleigh which was an interesting experience. We had never eaten at one of the places where they cook in front of you before. Joe said he had always wanted to so that is something off his "bucket list." Then we went to Bass Pro Shop to see the Bass Pro Shop race car and truck. Later that evening I started having Braxton Hicks contractions really bad and was not the happiest camper in the world. Also sometime in this two week span I think Joel has moved into position because I am feeling a lot of pelvic pressure. I'm a little scared because I'm thinking he must have a huge head.

Sunday the girls and I went to church. I ended up leaving in the middle of the service crying. I think the emotional aspect has finally caught up with me. I'm just overwhelmed with everything that is going on and it is hard to be alone. We went home for lunch and naps and then later we took the girls to Millbrook park to play.

Monday, the new guy started at Joe's work which means he now only has to work every third weekend, thank you Lord!! The getting home earlier at night still hasn't started, but I'm sure it will soon :) Tuesday I had my SOS meeting which I really needed. Yesterday I finally got everyone's pictures out in the mail. I am so sorry I'm so behind. I also took some boxes home last night and we packed up some books. I guess we'll do a little at a time so that way we'll be a little ahead whenever we do finally get the house sold.

So spread the word people, 3 bedroom, 1 bath house, around 1200 square feet, huge yard, stove and frig stay. We put in all new light fixtures when we bought it, a new front and back door when we bought it, new flooring in the kitchen, and new countertops in the kitchen. It is a great starter home. We are asking $79,500.00 but we are definitely willing to negoiate and will consider any reasonable offer. In a perfect world, I would love to be settled into our new home in Greenville before Joel gets here.

Speaking of Joel I was 27 weeks yesterday. It is so hard to believe he will be here in less than 13 weeks. It is incredibly hard on me not to be decorating his room and getting things set up. I am trying not to dwell on it too hard though because I do know that God is taking care of us and has a plan. I'm trying my best to give my need to control and plan everything. All I can say is God is working on me. I have come to realize that this is a great thing because I'm already teaching Josie to worry as much as me. We were going somewhere one night and she asked where we would sleep when we moved to Greenville (Joe and I found this hilarious because she hates going to bed). I told her that we would take our beds. Then she wanted to know where would we put our beds. I told her we would have a house and that she did not have to worry about anything. Then she says, but our beds won't fit in the van. I said no that we would have to take them apart but that we would get a truck and put them in the truck to move them. To which she replied, but how will we sleep on them if they are taken apart. I told her that Daddy would put them back together so that we could sleep on them. Next she informed me that we had to bring the chest that has all their toys. I told her again not to worry that we would bring all of their things with us. It broke my heart that she is worrying about things.

I feel like I keep jumping around, but I'm almost finished, I promise. Tomorrow we have a sibling preparation class at the hospital. We will tour the hospital so that the girls can see where I will be and see the babies and talk about being big sisters. I'm really looking forward to it. Sunday we have church, fellowship lunch, and then Josie and I will go to a baby shower for a friend from church.

Well I think that has you caught up for now. Again, spread the word about the house and if anyone has any questions about it, please let me or Joe know. Again, we are very much willing to work on price.
